Heavy fighting between major Solomani Fleet elements and Imperial Colonial Squadrons based at the high population worlds of Nu Polis, Karukhi, Kimel and Oifuerr raged along the Nu Polis Run in the opening phase of the war. Nu Polis itself fell to the Solomani in savage fighting in 992. The remaining worlds of the trace changed hands numerous times until Imperial Fleet reinforcements began to arrive from deeper in the Domain of Ilelish. Nu Polis itself was liberated by Imperial forces in 997.

Following the war, the Archduke of the Domain of Ilelish officially renamed the Nu Polis Run the Nu Polis Rampart in honour of the Colonial Fleets' sacrifices.
