The Balech Subsector is defended by 232nd Fleet.

Subsector Summary: 1105[edit]

Balech, subsector I of Gushemege, contains 33 worlds with an estimated combined population of 4 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,957, and a total economy of BCr13,517. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr392 through 29 starports (7 Class A, 11 Class B, 7 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 57,005 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Balech maintain six Scout bases, and five Naval bases. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 12). The highest technology level is 15 at Egurgadi (Gushemege 0126).

Balech, subsector I of Gushemege, contains 52 stars and 342 identified planets; 16 monostellar systems, 15 binary systems, two trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 23 of the 33 systems (69%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, three Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, seven Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and four Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Balech has an estimated population of 4 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 13 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, 12 Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population world is Hulr (Gushemege 0727). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Third Imperium[edit]

The Third Imperium has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 4 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,957, and a total economy of BCr13,517. The governments in the Third Imperium maintain six Scout bases and five Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 12). The highest technology level is 15 at Egurgadi (Gushemege 0126).

History-Era: Rebellion Era[edit]

Balech Subsector is under the harsh rule of Duke Rall Talenn who has used his position to grab further power, line his own pockets (and those of his friends) and subjugate the people. He is only tolerated by the central Gushemege authorities as he has control of a very strategically valuable region. The subsector fleets protect the spinward flanks of Gushemege from the Federation of Ilelish and Aslan Ihatei. Open criticism or action to curb the Duke's excesses may be the excuse he needs to set up an independent state (thereby depriving the sector of valuable resources) potentially hostile, or worse still, side with Dulinor. Both paths would leave the centre of Gushemege vulnerable to attack.
