History & Background (Dossier)

This hospitable world was originally colonised by Vlazhdumecta, who established a base to supply ships en route to the spinward colonies. After the collapse of the Vlazhdumecta Colonization Sphere, the stranded inhabitants fell back to TL-1, growing to about a million strong at the point when Solomani settlers arrived. Ancona later served as the base for Solomani expansion to surrounding worlds.

World Starport (St)

Ancona has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
