Yori is a rich desert world with no free-standing water. This world contains an archaeological site with artifacts suspected to be from the now-vanished Ancients. This world has the Imperial Research Station Beta for the Sector. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Regina Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Yori, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This is the homeworld of the Zhurphani, a Minor Race. They are 60% of the world's population.
- Yori is a member of the Spinward Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Yori has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Yori has a hot climate and a standard oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere.
It orbits within its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Yori is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Yori has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Yori has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere. Yori's desert surface is covered by salt deposits resulting from the evaporation of huge, now dried seabeds left over from a time long ago when the planetary climate was much wetter.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
Native Sophont: Zhurphani[edit]
The Zhurphani are two meter tall bipedal omnivores. They weigh from 40 to 150 kilograms and have two arms. They have two eyes in the front of their head with two ears above and a many-toothed mouth below. They can see in both normal light and in infrared. They appear to be vaguely reptilian but are actually warm-blooded. [2]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
A rich Imperial world located in the Regina Subsector of the Spinward Marches.
Salt mining from Yori’s huge dried sea beds is the planet's main industry; this salt is highly valued by the food industries of many worlds.
Research Station Beta is located on the 14th moon of the system’s second gas giant. Officially, it is there to study gas-giant weather.
Imperial Landed Nobility (N)[edit]
Yori, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
- See: Nobles of Yori
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Yori has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Yori has a population of 70,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
World Demographics[edit]
The three branches of Zhurphani -- the Yrii Zur -- diverged from the parent species recently (within the last few hundred thousand years). The parent species, the Zur, was sophont, and created a wide-spanning network of cities which controlled the planet's dwindling water supply. Long after that civilization's collapse, the species diverged in adaptation to the evolving climate zones of Yori.
Urbanization[edit]
In addition to Yori Startown, the other major settlement on the planet is Davinci.
World Government (G)[edit]
Yori is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Yori has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Yori possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
