Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of eight G-Carriers subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

Basic Ship Characteristics [2]
No. Category Remarks
1. Tonnage / Hull 2000 tons.
2. 10 Officers and 20 Crew Barracks for 160 marines (usually 32 G-carrier crew and 128 Marines) crew.
3. Performance / Engineering Propulsion: 6G
  • Jump-0 relies on its Battle Tender to transport it between Star Systems
  • 6-G acceleration
  • Power Plant-A
  • 200-EPs
  • Agility-6
4. Main Section / Electronics Model/9 fib ship computer.
5. Hardpoints 20 hardpoints.
6. Armament / Weaponry The normal weapons fit-out for it is:
  • Lasers: ten TL13 triple beam lasers mounted as a single factor 9 battery in a single oversized turret

on the roof. Used for pinpoint orbital fire support when in orbit and for defence of the ship and landing zone when landed.

  • Energy Weapons: Two dual fusion cannons mounted a single factor 6 nose battery - used for destroying

enemy ships and for anti missile fire on the approach to the target.

enemy ships, ground installations, for supporting the ground troops with long range fire support and for performing sensor sweeps.

  • Other: None
7. Defenses Defensive Equipment:
  • Ship Armors: Factor 15 bonded superdense armoured hull.
  • Meson Screens: Factor 5, for defence against planetary defence deep meson guns.
  • Nuclear Dampers: Factor 2, to protect the ship (and landing site) from battlefield nukes

and californium munitions.

anti missile and laser defence, as well as clearing a landing zone of hostile infantry.

8. Craft / Drones The ship normally carries a single Lift Infantry Company - sixteen 12 ton G-Carriers, two in each of

the eight rapid launch bays. Each G-Carrier has a crew of two Marines and carries eight Lift Infantry inside (Marines in Grav Belt equipped Battledress). The Marines are usually armed with lasers and FGMP-14s, allowing them to recharge their gear from their G-Carrier's powerplant. Some troop carrying G-carriers are replaced with specialist versions; Command (replaces troops with enhanced comms and ECM) Artillery (G-Carrier armed with MRLs and Drone launchers) Fire Control (used to scout and co-ordinate artillery) Point Defence (uses advanced sensors and VRF Gauss Guns to destroy incoming artillery munitions) Medical (Mobile surgery and Low Berths for wounded personel) Damper Vehicles (mobile nuclear damper to protect the force from nuclear weapons and decontaminate radiated areas and equipment)

Some ships replace the G-Carriers with 20 ton Grav Tanks( usually Tripidas), with the remaining grav belt equipped Marines deploying out of the four airlocks.

Some ships replace the G-Carriers with drop pod launchers, allowing the entire force of 160 Marine Commandos to be deployed quickly and stealthily for Covert Missions.

9. Fuel Treatment Fuel scoops are fitted, to allow the ship to refuel on it's own, but usual procedure

is for the ship to be fuelled from it's battle Tender.

10. Cost MCrClassified. as this is a state of the art TL15 ship, used exclusively

by the Imperial Marines, it not available for sale on the open market.

11. Construction Time Classified.

Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities

Vessel Peculiarities: It's a gigantic 2000 ton shuttle that is used to deliver an entire company of Imperial Lift Infantry through hostile planetary defences to the target zone. If you spot one on your scanners, be polite.

Class Naming Practice/s: Ingame, the ships are named after decorated Imperial Marines. The ship is actually named after the artist (Steve Venters) who did the painting that was used on the cover of 'The Spinward Marches Campaign' book.
