The Bengal class Carrier is a combatant warship.
- It is a military ship and a Carrier.
Description (Specifications)
Bengal class Carriers were designed for service with the Bain Defense Squadron, the space force of Bain, a Solomani world lying in Spica Sector. Though they are tiny by the standards of Solomani Confederation vessels they are occasionally called upon for Confederation service. They serve as flagships for Fighter groups, typically carrying two small composite squadrons. Bengals are partially streamlined, primarily to allow wilderness refueling.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]
| No. | Category | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | Tonnage | The Bengal class is constructed using a 1,000 Ton hull built in a Close Structure configuration. The hull is partially streamlined, giving a relatively limited atmospheric performance that is reliant on its onboard gravitic systems.
|
| 2. | Crew | 23 personnel.
Accommodations
Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems.
|
| 3. | Performance | The vessel mounts a Jump-1 drive, a Maneuver-X drive, and a Power Plant-X, giving performance of Jump-X and X-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of X [and an emergency agility of X]. [The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for [one] [two three consecutive] Jump-X and gives the power plant X weeks duration.] [The internal fuel tankage gives the power plant X weeks duration.]
[* The jump drive utilizes a lanthanum hull grid.] [* The jump drive creates a jump bubble around the vessel.]

History & Background (Dossier)
They carry a single Missile bay to bombard enemy targets. They carry a pair of small composite fighter squadrons and each is a blend of different designs. A slightly obsolete Model 3 fib computer is installed. There is enough fuel on board for two jump 1s. They are designed and built on Bain. More than half of the crew are fighter pilots.
