Youghal is an unusually shaped planet, being greatly flattened at the poles and bulging massively at the equator. As a result the atmosphere is too thin to breathe at the equator but is thick enough to breathe at the poles.

History & Background (Dossier)

The entire population is gathered in a single city at the south pole. A second, northern settlement was abandoned in 928.

A 200-ton version of the Safari Ship is constructed at the Relani and Wong shipyard on Youghal.
