Evyet is an agricultural world with the potential to become an industrial power.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import many manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the Eiebl Subsector of Fulani Sector.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is the homeworld of the Okyar.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Evyet has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x5 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's prime H region.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Evyet is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Evyet has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Evyet has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
Evyet retains two small vacuum moons.
- The worlds orbit once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life filling every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Evyet is relatively busy, with an expanding economy and rising standards of living.
- The resources of the mainworld are being exploited.
It is the homeworld of the Okyar.
- They are small, broadly humanoid fruit-eating tree dwellers.
- First contact occurred millennia ago.
A few private interests are active within the system.
- Commercial traffic is relatively infrequent: ships only occasionally visit.
- Commo generally only picks up natural background noise and static.
- One or two commercial navigation beacons may be active.
- Vessels rarely operate among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Evyet has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Evyet has a population of 60 million Okyar.
Urbanization[edit]
Multiple large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
- Large regions of the surface of the world remain as wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Evyet possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bicycles and early steam coaches with advanced roadways.
- Water: Advanced sailing and early steam engine ships.
- Air: The earliest hot air balloons.
World Government (G)[edit]
Evyet is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
- Members of the Okyar's "matron" sex are the leaders of society. Matrons have a strict hierarchy, and one of their number is granted absolute authority.
World Military[edit]
Approximately 3 million professional military personnel.
World Law (L)[edit]
Evyet has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).
