Zharifrans is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and barren in nature with no overt population, government, or law level.
- These worldlets would warrant hazardous environment precautions if anyone lived here.
- They could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Izh Kriezhlal Subsector of Yiklerzdanzh Sector.
- It is a secondary planetoid belt in the Fafrekolefransh system.
- Planetoid belts have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.
- It is a member of the Hammer Cluster.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Stellar Data
Zharifrans has a solitary primary star.
- It is a turbulent red giant named Arifra.
Fafrekolefransh has a solitary primary star. Arifra

System Data
The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, designated as the Fafrekolefransh belt, orbiting in the far outer system.
- x4 planetoid belts.
- One of these is the Zharifrans belt.
The system does not contain any secondary rocky worlds.
Secondary World Data
Zharifrans is a Planetoid Belt secondary world.
The belt orbits towards the inner edge of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively high levels of stellar energy.
- The belt lies around 170 AU within the star's Jump Shadow.
- Sublight travel times from and to safe jump distances can take many weeks.
Mainworld Size (S)
Zharifrans is an Asterioid Belt or Planetoid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects. Asteroid Belt is used when the belt is the mainworld of a system. Planetoid Belt refers to any non-mainworld belt within a system.
Secondary World Atmosphere (A)
None of the bodies within the Zharifrans belt retain an atmosphere.
- The belt is in vacuum conditions, requiring the use of a Vacc Suit.
- TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
The Zharifrans belt contains a few icy bodies. A few belt objects have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.
- Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
- Water for the inhabitants is generally imported and is extensively recycled.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held chart of the belt exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms
No known native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
The system's turbulent red giant star causes intense interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
The belt contains extremely high levels of mineral resources including rare earth elements, exponentially higher quantities than any other belt in the system. The belt's inaccessibility (due to its depth within the star's Jump Shadow and the severe dangers presented by its close proximity to the star) have prevented it from being declared the Mainworld and seeing commercial exploitation begin.
World Spaceport (St)
Zharifrans does not have a spaceport. The Class Y Spaceport is an indication no port exists on this world. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Population (P)
Zharifrans is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.
World Technology Level (T)
Zharifrans possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)
Zharifrans has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Law (L)
Zharifrans has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
World Culture
The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
World Timeline
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
