The Mische Conglomerate is a breakaway group of systems from the Galian Trade League. They have become a rival trade group, one of several within that region of space.
Linguistics
The primary language of the Mische Conglomerate is a multi-syllabic click language generally called Galian. It is widely spoken in the Coreward side of the Crucis Margin. Secondary languages include:
Names in Mische are usually singular and 5 or 6 syllables long. The first two syllables are normally the family name. Occasionally this is three syllables long. The third syllable defines the gender of the name, male or female with either "ban" (male) or "an" (female). The last one or two syllables is the name of the person. It is common practice for Mische when dealing with other races to use an abbreviated version of their name, usually one of the syllables from the family name.
Cultural Practices
Each Mische family will try to erect a stele or steles as public monuments. These recount names of family members and important family accomplishments. Genealogy, family history, and even ancestor worship are important parts of Mische life. Stele are usually limited in size and grandeur by social position of the family. Having several erected stele is not uncommon, particularly for socially elite families.
Mische societal organization groups families into a semi-rigid class structure. Your family's status in society and class position determines your potential place in the Mische corporate structure. This has created a very oligarchic social structure. It is possible for someone to rise above their class status by special act or exceptional economic success.
Government & Politics (Leadership)
The Mische Conglomerate is a corporate / business and political entity in one. The same leadership controls the political and economic direction of the Conglomerate.
The Conglomerate head of state is the Director. The Director is appointed by a Board of Executives.
The Board of Executives is elected annually through a vote of all share holders in the Conglomerate. Most voting is done in blocs of proxy votes gathered by the more important and connected families on worlds within the Conglomerate. Each system within the Conglomerate elects 1 to 3 executives based on population, economic strength, and longevity of membership. There are currently 18 executives on the board.
The overall government is best described as an Oligarchy as the Board of Executives is almost exclusively chosen by the most important families within the Conglomerate, often with only a veneer of acting as the proxy vote they represent.
The day-to-day operation of the government is conducted through a massive corporate bureaucracy, much of it impersonal.

History: General Overview
Originally founded as a corporate entity within the Galian Trade League (GTL) in 618 with the corporate headquarters on Ewa (world). Broke away from the GTL in 786 along with the Viyard Concourse and Mercantile Concord. Has since maintained a truce with the GTL and its successor, the Galian Federation.
The Mische Conglomerate initially consisted of three systems Ewa (world), Uaboe (world), and Abricot (world). The Conglomerate expanded into the Vandir Subsector a few decades later with five additional systems joining between 810 and 889.
History-Era: Mileu 1100
In 1110 the Conglomerate gained control of the Chitek (world) system by buying elections and placing a friendly leadership that voted to join the Conglomerate. There is still resistance among many business entities in this system to this move. The previous controlling world, Parida (world) is contesting this occupation as well.
