Abricot is a preindustrial, moderate population water world with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in population size.

  • Its surface is 90% or more covered in an ocean of water.
  • The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
  • As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a member of the Mische Conglomerate in the Ostermann Subsector of Crucis Margin Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Abricot was one of the original three members of the Mische Conglomerate.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Abricot has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Abricot has a population of 800,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The primary language is Galian. Secondary languages include Anglic and Vilani.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Abricot possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Abricot is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

World Military[edit]

Military forces of the Mische Conglomerate are simply those of individual member words. Joint command protocols do exist for combined operations, and equipment is designed to be interoperable, but the Conglomerate is an alliance, not a state.

World Law (L)[edit]

Abricot has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).

World Culture[edit]

This world is part of the Mische Conglomerate. The nation's societal organization assigns families to a semi-rigid class system. Family status and class position largely determine a person's place in the Mische corporate structure, though it is possible for someone to rise above their class status by exceptional action or merit.
