Mainworld Size (S)

Shtibra is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Shtibra has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

• It experiences generally moderate temperatures.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Shtibra has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.

• Huge storms, often thousands of kilometers across, periodically surge across the world.

History & Background (Dossier)

Shtibra is a frontier, a wild and lonely place that rarely sees visitors. Many of the planets and moons within the system have never been visited by an intelligent being.

• Information about the system is limited.
• The resources of the system are untapped.

The system's secondary star experiences periodic bouts of flare activity, which causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

• During major outbursts of flare activity radiation levels within the secondary star's system of worlds are dangerously high.
• Exposure to elevated radiation levels causes serious health issues and may damage unshielded electronic devices.

The secondary star is far enough from the primary and the mainworld for the flare effects to be limited to commo interference.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date: previously undocumented groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.
