Zurk is a barren hellworld, which would challenge the survival of nearly any sophont in Charted Space if it weren't already barren.

  • As a barren world, it has no overt population, government, or law level.
  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
  • This world could probably be populated by very determined colonists if any had an inclination to do so...
  • It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Rdrefrn-40 Subsector of Fulani Sector.
  • This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Zurk is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Zurk has a Corrosive Atmosphere and possesses a concentrated gas mix or unusual temperature which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit. TL–9 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Zurk has no free-standing fluids on the surface. What little surface fluid exists consists of exotic substances that are corrosive and highly toxic. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds.

Zurk is a frontier, a wild and lonely place that rarely sees visitors. Many of the planets and moons within the system have never had an intelligent being visit them.

  • Information about the system is limited.
  • The resources of the system are largely untapped.

The system is unpopulated.

  • Commercial traffic is extremely rare: the system sees very few visiting ships.
  • Commo only picks up natural background noise and static.
  • There are no active navigation beacons.
