Mainworld Data[edit]

World Starport (Sp)

Zuiar has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Size (S)

Zuiar is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

World Atmosphere (A)

Zuiar has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

World Hydrosphere (H)

Zuiar has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

World Population (P)

Zuiar has a population of 1,000,000,000 to 9,999,999,999 sophonts (billions).

World Government (G)

Zuiar has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

World Law Level (L)

Zuiar has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Technology Level (TL)

Zuiar possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

Imperial Landed Nobility (N)

Zuiar, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

History & Background / Dossier[edit]

A major S'mrii colony, and member of the original Alliance of Worlds.

Zuiar has a large industrial base, concentrating on electronics, vehicle and heavy equipment manufacturing.

During the Pacification Campaigns, the Vilani recognised that Zuiar was too valuable a target to depopulate completely, and so the world was occupied and Makhidkarun began a major settlement programme. In many cases S’mrii urban centres were simply bulldozed to make way for the Vilani, and their populations forced out into the deserts.

At present, Humans (mainly Vilani) form about fifty percent of the world’s population, and tensions between the Human and S'mrii communities run high. The S'mrii seem intent on regaining their lost territory by any means short of actual violence. The future seems bleak for the Human community, as their ancient S'mrii built aquifers and irrigation systems break down and cannot be repaired (without outside help...). Water riots are becoming increasingly common, especially in the mixed-race areas.
