Zdalzi is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the String of Pearls Subsector of Yiklerzdanzh Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is the homeworld of the Zdalzi.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Zdalzi is a quaternary star system.
- The primary is an orange main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
- The tertiary is a white dwarf stellar remnant.
- The quaternary is a white dwarf stellar remnant.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- An unknown number of secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's prime H region.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Zdalzi is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Zdalzi has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- It experiences moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Zdalzi has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
Zdalzi retains two small vacuum moons.
- They orbit once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This is the homeworld of the eponymous Zdalzi.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Zdalzi has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
The main starport is run as a joint venture between the owning country (the most powerful of the planet's nations) and a company operating out of Sitiefladr called Viamfri Zdalzi. The starport staff (both Human and Zdalzi) are infamous for attempting any number of scams and exploitations.
World Population (P)[edit]
Zdalzi has a population of 9,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population almost entirely consists of Zdalzi.
- A few Humans and other sophonts may occasionally be encountered.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Zdalzi possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Zdalzi has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
There are 54 governments; the most significant four having 20%, 15%, 10% and 10% of the total population. The largest of these, which boasts the primary starport, has annexed a number of small nations through military conquest. The military is a popular choice of career because it allows the fastest road to the top of the power tree.
The major four nations have purchased interstellar vessels for military and economic purposes. They send some of their people offworld for training; some of these later serve aboard merchant ships for extra experience.
World Law (L)[edit]
Zdalzi has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Culture[edit]
The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
