Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Tash class War Cruiser is a light warship.
- It is a military ship and a War Cruiser.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Built for the Eiaplial Davr at the orbital shipyards of Tash (Tsadra 2207 A88A954-D). This class is a special cruiser design and is sometimes referred to as a war cruiser. Their design has an emphasis on weapon load and performance was a secondary consideration. It has enough fuel for a single jump 2, has only 4 G acceleration and no agility. Streamlined for ocean refueling it is fitted with scoops and purification equipment. The hull is very lightly armored, it is fitted with TL–13 screens and a pair of repulsors to keep missile batteries at bay. The light meson spinal gun runs the length of the ship's keel. The bow has a cluster of ten triple beam lasers firing as a high intensity battery. Ten dual fusion gun turrets are equipped to fire independently as twenty batteries, and are scattered over the hull for close in, point defense versus fighters and missile strikes. Drive nacelles hang from the outer wing tips. The front of each drive pod is fitted with a pair of heavy particle accelerator bays. A smaller missile bay lobs supporting fire with advanced drone missiles. The absence of sand, and the light missile load, are curious to Zhodani observers. The Zhodani have witnessed these ships in action across a distant frontier, few in the imperium have ever seen. A single squad of marines handles boarding actions. They can insert from orbit and rely on the pair of launches from the rear hangar deck, for recovery and dust off extraction.
