Sardan is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and both non-agricultural and preindustrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • Despite the challenges of living on asteroid colonies, this settlement is at a moderate population status of over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in size.
  • The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • These worldlets are working towards being an industrial world but lack adequate resources to do so. Local leaders are diligently working towards the expansion of this settlement's industrial manufacturing capability.
  • It is a subject world of the Korsumug Empire located in the Taltan Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
  • This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.
  • About 50% of the population is composed of humans.
  • Around 50% of the population is made up of Jaibok.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Sardan is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a red main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red subdwarf.
Sardan has two stars in the star system.

Notes[edit]

The two stars of the Sardan system have an average separation of 60 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

  • The mainworld, orbiting the primary star.
  • x4 secondary rocky worlds. Two orbit the primary star, two orbit the secondary star.
  • x3 planetoid belts. One orbits the primary star, two orbit the secondary star.
  • x4gas giants. Two orbit the primary star, two orbit the secondary star.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Sardan is an Asteroid Belt mainworld.

The belt orbits within the primary star's outer system.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Sardan is an Asterioid Belt or Planetoid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects. Asteroid Belt is used when the belt is the mainworld of a system. Planetoid Belt refers to any non-mainworld belt within a system.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

None of the bodies within the Sardan belt retain an atmosphere.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

The Sardan belt contains a few icy bodies. A few belt objects have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.

  • Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
  • Water for the inhabitants is generally imported and is extensively recycled.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held chart of the belt exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

The system's star experiences periodic bouts of flare activity, which causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport[edit]

Sardan has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Demographics[edit]

World Languages[edit]

World Technology Level[edit]

Sardan possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government[edit]

Sardan is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
