Matinger is a nonindustrial, rich, agricultural world with improving living conditions due to a bustling agro-economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Its economy is bustling and an increase in living conditions is expected in the near future.
  • This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Irinkuka Subsector of Fornast Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
  • It is the homeworld of the Denaar, a sophont species and minor race.

  • This world has also been known as:
    • Denaar
    • Matisse

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

There are four continents, but two are polar and discussion tends to refer to the two habitable continents. These are both equatorial.

The central highlands of the eastern continent are home to a Denaar ethnic group noted for being physically stronger and preferring a more traditionalist lifestyle.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

  • Buh-chu fungus
  • Ret-yu-chi lizard
  • Whup-du bat

Native Sophont (NIL): Denaar[edit]

A non-humanoid race known for downloading consciousness into new bodies as members age.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Matinger is also known as Denaar, as are its native people (see above). In their primary native language the Denaar refer to themselves as ahn-twar, which roughly translates to “being” or, more formally, as chi-nes-twar-kohn, meaning “children of the endless generations.” The sometimes confusing situation with the world name arose from the renowned Vilani respect for tradition. “Denaar” originated as a Vilani label for the system primary, before they achieved spaceflight. Reluctant to discredit the ancestral name despite its unsuitability for the Ziru Sirka, they still applied it liberally in spite of the Modern Vilani designation of Matinger (which the Third Imperium uses).

World Government[edit]

Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]

Matinger, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

Languages[edit]

Urbanization[edit]

In common Denaar architecture, gardens often grow through windows, making it hard sometimes to distinguish where house ends and garden begins. Cities tend to be spacious by Human standards, and have a tendency to "wander" over centuries, the populace abandoning older, still functional structures for more modern ones constructed on new territory.

Cities include Kal-ti-mor.
