Lenox is a poor, low-population desert world with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Lenox is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a red main sequence.
  • The secondary is a brown dwarf substellar object.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Lenox is a satellite of a gas giant.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Lenox is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Lenox has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

  • The world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
  • Oxygen is produced by photocatalytic conversion of surface materials by stellar energy.
  • Fresh surface material is constantly exposed through processes such as seismic activity, volcanism, or erosion.
  • The oxygen rapidly depletes from the atmosphere through oxidization with surface materials: a rough equilibrium between production and depletion exists.
  • The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere varies according to the density of global cloud cover.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Lenox has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

  • The world experiences very low temperatures.
  • The surface is a frigid, hostile environment.
  • What little water exists is frozen solid.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

No native life: the world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Lenox is a remote outpost based around mineral surveying and prospecting.

  • The resources of the system are being explored.

A few private interests are active within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is relatively infrequent: ships only occasionally visit.
  • Commo picks up occasional signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
  • A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
  • A vessel or two may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Lenox has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Demographics (P)[edit]

Lenox has a population of 100.

Urbanization[edit]

A single central facility, located adjacent to the starport, with a few outlying structures and compounds.

  • Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
  • Almost all of the surface of the world is wilderness.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Lenox possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Lenox has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Military[edit]

Privately retained security personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Lenox has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: A (abundant)
  • Labor: 1 (tens)
  • Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
  • Efficiency: +2 (good)

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 0 (unimportant)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 1 (monolithic)
  • Acceptance: 2 (very xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 7 (confusing)
  • Symbols: C (very abstract)
