Ktauhokh is a nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

• Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
• As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
• It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Aslan sophonts located in the Ealisyw Subsector of Harea Sector.

• Around 90% of the population is composed of Aslan.
• Around 10% of the population is composed of baseline humans.

Ktauhokh is the satellite of a gas giant named Aorl.

The mainworld and its gas giant primary orbit within the star's Habitable Zone.

• They lie within the zone's colder outer H- region.
• They receive lower levels of stellar energy.

• They orbit just within the star's Jump Shadow.

Mainworld Size (S)

Ktauhokh is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Ktauhokh has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Ktauhokh has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)

Ktauhokh is an expanding outpost with an improving economy and acceptable standards of living.

• The world has been settled by ihatei Aslan, moving to spinward along the edge of the Great Rift in search of new territories.
• The resources of the system are gradually being exploited.

A number of organizations and private interests are active within the system.

• Commercial traffic is relatively frequent: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
• Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Trokh.
• The star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
• A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
• A few vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

Aslan settlement within the region has been sporadic, with scouting missions occurring after the year 1000 and outposts being established by the 1060s.

• The Aslan worlds of the area are beginning to coalesce into a single unified polity.
• Prior to settlement, Ktauhokh was a barren world.

The human population of the world arrived with the Aslan.

• Most are integrated members of society.
• Many are not there by choice.

Ktauhokh has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

The world hosts a commercial operations base for the Talokan Trade Authority.

• The site includes a private spaceport.
• The facility is guarded by corporate security.

Ktauhokh has a population of 300,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
• Around 90 percent of the population (approximately 270,000 individuals) are Aslan.
• About 10 percent of the population (approximately 30,000 individuals) are Human.
