Khuir is a high-population, industrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water and a billion or more sophonts in population size.

- It is a member of the Sylean Worlds, a cultural region and full member state of the Third Imperium in the Kaskii Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.

In the aftermath of the Civil War, the leadership of the Sylean Worlds held a conference on Khuir, where they decided as a group to pursue the demilitarisation of their cultural zone.
