Settlement of Katoonah has, intriguingly, largely proceeded from the centre outward. The most populated region is centrally located, with additional concentrations of sophonts to core-spinward, where Hiver-aligned races have established themselves.
In central Katoonah, the Human League -- descended from Human colonists who are likely of Terran Confederation descent -- interacts uneasily with two nations populated by local sophonts, which they have named the "Sylvan" and the "Draconians" (the actual names of these races are unknown to the IISS).
