Imperial Calendar
The Imperial Calendar (IC) is the calendar established at the creation of the Third Imperium as a universal calendar reform. Dates count from the founding of the Imperium, the year "zero".
To distinguish, when required, the years in the Imperial Calendar from other dating systems the years would be marked with IC (for Imperial Calendar), IY (for Imperial Year), or TI (for Third Imperium). IC is preferred.
For example:
- Terra's year 1 is equivalent to -4520.
- Terra discovered jump drive in -2431.
- The Imperium was founded in 0 (Zero).
Description (Specifications)
The year is divided into 365 standard days, which are grouped into 52 weeks of seven days each. Days are numbered consecutively, beginning with one. The first day of the year is a holiday and is not part of any week.
For example, The first day (Holiday) of the year 1116 is 001-1116 and the last day of the year is 365-1116.
The days of each week are named based upon their ordinal position in the week: Wonday or 1day, Tuday or 2day, Thirday or 3day, Forday or 4day, Fiday or 5day, Sixday or 6day, Senday or 7day. The holiday day does not belong any week and is simply named "Holiday".
History & Background (Dossier)
The calendar of the Third Imperium bears the legacy of the Terran Confederation and the Rule of Man with the sensibilities, pragmatics, and culture of today's Third Imperium.
