Hedreunides is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Hedreunides Subsector of Matzen Sector.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x9 secondary rocky worlds.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
- The orbital period of Hedreunides is 1033.66 days.
- The world is tidally locked to its sun.
- Hedreunides has an axial tilt of 16 degrees with no orbital eccentricity.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Hedreunides is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.
- Hedreunides has a diameter of 1199 miles / 1918 km.
- The planet has a rocky core with a density of 0.66 compared to standard.
- The surface gravity of Hedreunides is 0.064 of standard and as a result of classified as low gravity.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Hedreunides has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- Hedreunides has no atmosphere to speak of and is a vacuum world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Hedreunides has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
- Hedreunides has just 1% water as a hydrographic percentage. This is in the form of ice crystals formed just beneath the planets surface in cave systems. As a result of this all waste is recycled and reprocessed to provide the base water requirements for the planets population. In addition water has become an imported commodity that is vital to the populations survival.
Satellites:[edit]
- Hedreunides is orbited by a small moon that has been formally named as "Systae". There are no permanent bases or facilities on the moon at this point in time.

World Starport (St)[edit]
Hedreunides has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The starport facilities on the planet itself are located inside a vast cavern complex with airlock controlled docking stations.
- The starport facilities on the planet are usually used as a facility to transit between the surface and the highport in orbit around the planet.
- The Hedreunides Highport is the main Type B starport providing access to the steady flow of ships in and out of system.
Facilities[edit]
Port facilities within the system include:
- The starport maintains large fuel reserves that have been mined from the gas giants in system. As such there is a constant flow of tanker vessels transiting around the system skimming unrefined fuel from the gas giants in the Outer System. These tankers bring there load back to the refining facilities at the starport and ensure that fuel is always available for ships passing through the system.
- Located as a seperate orbiting facility there is a shipyard dedicate to small space craft. The shipyard is especially important to the building, repair and maintenance of the large fuel tender fleets operating in the system.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Hedreunides possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government (G)[edit]
Hedreunides is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
- The top level of government maintaining control of Hedreunides are referred to simply as the Guild Masters.
- The government of Hedreunides comprises of the leaders of all the major guilds located in the system. Such guilds must have a membership of at least 50,000 individual sophonts to be able to nominate a guild master to the Guild Masters. Smaller guilds usually ally themselves to the larger ones to ensure they have a voice.
- Dominant guilds in system are the Refiners Guild, Miners Guild, Merchants Guild, Diplomacy and Civil Service Guild and the Shipwrights Guild. There are many others but these are the guilds most likely to be exert a level of power in the system.
World Military[edit]
- A number of system based patrols ships are maintained by the local government to protect the main world but also the shipping lane around the outer system gas giants and the fuel routes back to Hedreunides itself.
- The military is funded from guild funds that are then subsequently spent as authorised by the Guild Masters.
- Members of the local military have to renounce guild membership during their years of service but do get the right to vote in local elections as a neutral advocate.
World Law (L)[edit]
Hedreunides has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
- Local laws prohibits none registered ships to skim fuel from the gas giants within the Hedreunides system. This vital source of fuel is heavily regulated and protected as a natural reserve and is not open to general usage.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 8 (moderate)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 7 (generally available)
- Efficiency: +4 (advanced)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
- Hedreunides has moderate levels of crystal mines located deep beneath the planets surface. These crystals have multiple uses but mainly are sold to the shipbuilding industry for usage on building ship components.
- There are extensive manufacturing facilities located both on the planet and in orbit at the highport and the shipyards that manufacture and sell a range of parts, durables and consumables.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Hedreunides has a population of approximately 5,000,000
Urbanization[edit]
- Outside of the starport there are no major urban areas located on Hedreunides.
- Deep under the surface the extensive crysal mines also provide housing for miners and their families.
- Other housing for local sophonts can be found in the highport and shipyard facilities.
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 7 (discordant)
*The population of Hedreunides have a common belief in their culture and lifestyle as being at a good standard. The guild structure that governs that lifestyle has to maintain a careful balance of needs and goals vs living standards. This on occasion does cause upset in the local equilibrium that can cause civil discourse.
- Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
*Locals from Hedreunides do feel somewhat distant to outsiders. Their culture of growing up and living in cavernous networks under the surface of the planet gives them the belief they are different to those who do not. They believe themselves to be tougher more disciplined and more resilient to those who do not.
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
*Local sophonts are no different to the vast majority of cultural norms seen elsewhere in the subsector. The only thing that stands out is that all locals shave their heads.
- Symbols: G (extremely abstract)
*The locals use tattoos, sign language and guild dialects to differentiate themselves from each other. It is not uncommon to encounter locals with a wide array of tattoos communicating with each other in nothing more than gestures that outsiders simply struggle to comprehend or understand.
