Tiachtiebria is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and is also a low-population vacuum environment with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

  • Asteroid belts have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.
  • This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Tiachtiebria is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a turbulent red giant.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Tiachtiebria is an Asteroid Belt mainworld.

Asteroid Belt 02.jpg

The Belt orbits within the far outer system.

  • It has a circumbinary orbit, circling around both stars and receiving their combined energy output.
  • It receives very low levels of stellar energy.

  • The belt lies just beyond the primary stars huge Jump Shadow.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Tiachtiebria is an Asteroid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

None of the bodies within the Tiachtiebria belt retain an atmosphere.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

The Tiachtiebria belt contains a few icy bodies. A few belt objects have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.

  • Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
  • Water for the inhabitants is generally imported and is extensively recycled.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held chart of the belt exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

No native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Tiachtiebria is relatively quiet, with almost no development. It is sponsored and supported by the Zhodani Consulate as part of a gradual expansion into the region.

  • The resources of the system are being exploited.

There is limited activity within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is infrequent: ships occasionally visit.
  • Commo regularly picks up signals and private chatter. Communications are in Zdetl.
  • The huge primary star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
  • One or two commercial navigation beacons may be active.
  • A few vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Tiachtiebria has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Tiachtiebria has a population of 6,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

Urbanization[edit]

A single city tunnelled into a large rocky planetoid.

  • Small facilities exist on other rocky bodies.
  • Structures and facilities are sealed.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Tiachtiebria possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Tiachtiebria is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.

World Military[edit]

Privately retained security personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Tiachtiebria has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -1 (unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 2 (very scarce)
  • Labor: 0 (unpopulated)
  • Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
  • Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 5 (harmonious)
  • Acceptance: 2 (very xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 7 (confusing)
  • Symbols: 9 (somewhat abstract)
