Edinina is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- It is a client state of the Third Imperium in the Vilis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.
- It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Stars
Edinina is a binary star system.
- The primary is an orange main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 small gas giant named Karimissaak.
Mainworld Data
Edinina is the largest moon of the small gas giant Karimissaak.
- The gas giant has a dark, thin ring system, almost invisible to the naked eye.
It is an inhospitable vacuum world with a somewhat eccentric orbit around Karimissaak. This takes it through the giant world’s feeble ring system three times in a standard year, drenching Edinina in radiation and occasional showers of debris.
Mainworld Size (S)
Edinina is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Edinina has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Edinina has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)
Edinina is a Danger World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
The system was declared an Amber Zone due to the dangers presented by radiation levels and debris impacts.
Edinina was granted protected status by the Imperium in 470 and remained a client state ever since.
Later Historical Eras
At some point between the end of the Fifth Frontier War and 1120 Edinina was absorbed by the Federation of Arden.
