Description (Specifications)
The Nexus Warden class System Monitors were designed and are manufactured in the Nexus (Ha 1526) (world) system. They have an armored streamlined needle/wedge hull capable of atmospheric operations and is fitted with fuel scoops for ocean refueling. They offer 6G acceleration, and 4 agility. There is a large fusion power plant dedicated to providing nimble agility, powerful energy weapons and feeding the computer's power demands. They are armed with 28 large missile bays, the best spinal mounted meson gun available, a particle accelerator bay, ten dual fusion guns, ten triple beam laser turrets, and a repulsor bay. The mass of the missile bays resulted in lighter armor than designers originally intended. The crew consists of 20 command, 164 engineers, 151 gunners, 5 flight, 80 service, and 40 security. They carry a pair of 50 ton cutters for utility and surface interface. They are part of the Nexus Fleet Forces and mount a pair of model 6 fib computers adjacent to the bridge with back up screens in the event of battle damage. Three of these monsters serve as flagships for the system defense forces. They are expected to defeat invading battleships on a one for one basis. They are fitted to carry drop tanks with an additional 28 days of power plant fuel, so that they can remain on station for an extended time.
