Surgian is a rich world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in size.

  • This world has high-grade living conditions with a good climate and a non-harmful environment. As such, this world is much sought after with large queues for immigration here.
  • This world has a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Most observers think that the planet's economy and population will prosper further in the near future barring outside forces.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the Surgian Subsector of Astron Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Surgian is a trinary star system.

  • The primary is a yellow-white main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.
  • The tertiary is a brown dwarf substellar object.

Surgian has three stars in the star system.

System Data

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data

No information yet available.

Mainworld Size (S)

Surgian is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Surgian has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Surgian has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Satellites:

Surgian retains a small very thin atmosphere moon.

  • It orbits once every few weeks.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms

Abundant, diverse native life filling every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)

No information yet available.

World Starport (St)

Surgian has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Technology Level (T)

Surgian possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World Government (G)

Surgian has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Military

No information yet available.

World Law (L)

Surgian has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.

World Economy

  • Resources: 6 (few)
  • Labor: 7 (tens of millions)
  • Infrastructure: 3 (very limited)
  • Efficiency: -3 (poor)

Trade Data

  • Importance: -1 (unimportant)

World Demographics (P)

Surgian has a population of 400,000,000

Urbanization

Multiple large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.

  • Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
  • Large regions of the surface of the world remain as wilderness.

World Culture

  • Homogeneity: A (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
  • Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
  • Symbols: 8 (somewhat abstract)
