Uror is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Tsorva Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
System Data[edit]
Kusak-Uror System[edit]
The primary is Kusak, an ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 7.18 Sols, a mass of 1.62 Sols, and a diameter of 2.282 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt, and (V) a dense atmosphere stormworld. (VI) Uror orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VII) a ringed small gas giant, (VIII) a small ice giant, (IX) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (X) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(VI) Uror[edit]
(VI) World is designated the mainworld. It orbits Kusak at a mean distance of 2.7 AU (403.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 3 years 177 days and a rotation period of 18.5 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Uror has a diameter 9,717 km, a density of 5.59 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.77 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.23 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen, 22% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 48% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 44°C. The atmosphere is sluggish and weak weather systems driven by the star slowly cross the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite[edit]
Uror retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum world named Ranu:
- (VIa) Ranu (UWP Y300000-0, orbiting Uror at 16 Diameters/155,000 km)
Mainworld geography and topography[edit]
Total surface area: 297 million km², Land surface area: 167 million km², Water surface area: 130 million km².
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
This world is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
This world has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
This world has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

World starport[edit]
Uror has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level[edit]
Uror possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government[edit]
Uror is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.

World culture[edit]
The sub-sector's champion arm wrestler currently lives here. Accepting all challengers at annual tournaments and festival championships, with corporate sponsors and media coverage. A Kuluk Edur, she is an aggressive competitor. No one is really sure how she ended up in this starport bar. A particularly notorious, small free trader crew is suspected of abandoning her here. Her left power arm was rumored to have been ripped off by an illegal cyborg competitor. Miraculously in her latest rounds of press releases she seems fully healed, rested, recovered and apparently promoting this year's contests. Corporate medical support is suspected, which has made the book makers and gamblers descend into heated debate over setting odds and making wagers.
