Wochiers system has a population between 10 and 100 million sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Regina Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Wochiers, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a viscount. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- Wochiers is a member of the Spinward Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Wochiers has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x12 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Wochiers orbits within the outer system.
It has an orbital period around its star (a local year) of 9 standard years, 32.8 standard days.
The world has a relatively slow rotation period: one local day is equivalent to 1.4 standard days (33.3 standard hours).
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Wochiers is a Big World between 15,200km and 16,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1.1G and 1.5G. The horizon will appear about 5.7km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Wochiers has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences very low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Wochiers has 15-25% of its surface covered by a fluid other than water. Wilderness refueling is not possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- This surface fluid may be ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids depending on the local temperature and environment.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Wochiers has a high atmospheric pressure greatly facilitates crystal-growing, which is the planet's main industry. Wochiers crystals are very durable and are used primarily in Imperial warships.
The population lives in the mountains or in underground complexes. By tradition, all visitors to Wochiers must bring an offering of a living plant to the hydroponics caves; suitable plants are available in the starport gift shop.
Oberlindes Lines and Tukera Lines, attracted by the X-boat terminus at nearby Dhian, are competing for shipping and passenger services to this world.
World Starport[edit]
Wochiers has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport. Wochiers is one of the exceptions. The combination of poor atmosphere and high-gravity made orbital warehousing a cheap option and so the Imperial Starport is there too. Ships should dock at the orbital station and use local shuttle services to get cargo and passengers to the surface. Surface ports are under local jurisdiction.
Urbanization[edit]
In addition to the largest city at Wochiers Landing, other major settlements on Wochiers include Rouseau, Ginush, Gagamburg, and Kumaland.

World Timeline[edit]
- (360): Octagon Society establishes a shelter on Wochiers.
- (499): Octagon Society dissolved after financial scandals; most assets sold at auction, remainder transferred to Wochiers (Spinward Marches 2207).
- (872): Lent Publishers of Wochiers (Spinward Marches 2207) publishes a history of the Octagon Society.
