Uvuri is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and is also a low-population vacuum environment with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Trichal Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
  • This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Uvuri has a solitary primary star.

  • It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Uvuri is an Asteroid Belt mainworld.

The belt orbits within the outer system.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Uvuri is an Asterioid Belt or Planetoid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects. Asteroid Belt is used when the belt is the mainworld of a system. Planetoid Belt refers to any non-mainworld belt within a system.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

None of the bodies within the Uvuri belt retain an atmosphere.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

The Uvuri belt contains large numbers of icy bodies. Many belt objects have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.

  • Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
  • Water for the inhabitants is generally imported and is extensively recycled.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held chart of the belt exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Uvuri has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Demographics (P)[edit]

Uvuri has a population of 6000.

Urbanization[edit]

Two small cities, each tunneled into large rocky planetoids.

  • Outposts and facilities exist on other rocky bodies.
  • Structures and facilities are sealed.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Uvuri possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government (G)[edit]

Uvuri has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

  • Each planetoid city claims ownership of the belt.

World Military[edit]

Privately retained security personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Uvuri has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 8 (moderate)
  • Labor: 2 (hundreds)
  • Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
  • Efficiency: +1 (average)

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -1 (unimportant)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 5 (harmonious)
  • Acceptance: 2 (very xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 2 (typical)
  • Symbols: 5 (concrete)
