Umnudar has a very thin atmosphere and no surface water. The system has a population between one and 10 million sophonts. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Arnakhish Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Umnudar, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Inig.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Umnudar is the only dedicated civilian shipyard in the subsector since Ninlakim (Dagudashaag 2208) is mostly concerned with producing military vessels. The space port and associated facilities is the major employer on the world, however they have recently suffered a staffing crisis due to a sizeable percentage of the local population turning their backs on the high tech lifestyle and taking off into the outback of the world to live a nomadic lifestyle.

It is estimated that in excess of 5% of the population have recently established themselves in the oasis springs that dot the Southern desert. No-one seems to know what has prompted so many skilled technicians to leave their employment and take their families into such a hostile environment.

The shipyards specialise in producing and customising Class F far traders and prospector vessels.

This system is a member of the Ninlakim Trace.

World Starport (Sp)

Umnudar has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Umnudar is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

World Atmosphere (A)

Umnudar has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

World Hydrosphere (H)

Umnudar has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

World Population (P)

Umnudar has a population of 1,000,000 sophonts (millions).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Government (G)

Umnudar is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referendum, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

World Law Level (L)

Umnudar has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
