Trifuge is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Darrian Confederation in the Darrian Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector. This is the homeworld of the Dphone, a Minor Race. 90% of the world's population is the Minor Human Race Daryen.
- Trifuge is a member of the Spinward Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Trifuge has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
Mainworld Data[edit]
A member of the Darrian Group, Trifuge has the longest year of all the Darrian planets. Its primary keeps it warm even at 122 AU from the star.
It orbits within its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Trifuge is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Trifuge has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Trifuge has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
The world is verdant, covered in swamps, forests and jungles; it is known for its torrential rainfalls.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Breathing the atmosphere without filters is dangerous due to the concentration of plant and fungal spores carried in the air. Animal life not native to the world tends to die within a couple of days, their lungs congested with plant growths.
Fauna tends to be reptilian, ranging from finger-sized lizards up to herbivores the size of a grav tank. Carnivorous plants are a common threat to animals on Trifuge.
Native Sophont: Dphone[edit]
The Dphone are a minor race evolving on Trifuge. Current studies show that they have a simple intellect similar to (non-uplift) Terran chimpanzees.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Trifuge was first colonized as a company planet with the heads of corporations providing housing and services for their employees. It is still run by industrial executives and their scientific advisers.
There are ongoing studies of the Dphone, a relatively advanced native species.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Trifuge has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Trifuge has a population of 200,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
World Languages[edit]
- Te-Zlodh: The primary Darrian language.
- Written te-zlodh uses a syllabary of flowing symbols, known as yaser te-yulep (the old script). When the Solomani arrived at Darrian, a new Latin-based alphabet, rome te-yulep ('the Roman script'), was introduced. Currently, yaser te-yulep remains in use for legal documentation, classic literature, poetry and news bulletins, where the speed and efficiency of the syllabary allows for rapid reading. Scientific and educational documentation are written in rome te-yulep.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Trifuge possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Trifuge is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Trifuge has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
- The Taledh Code is the basis of Darrian law.
