Tharmin is a satellite of a gas giant.

The mainworld and its gas giant primary orbit within the outer system.

• They receive very low levels of stellar energy.

• They orbit beyond the stars Jump Shadow.

Mainworld Size (S)

Tharmin is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Tharmin has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

• It experiences very low temperatures.

The world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.

• Oxygen is produced by photocatalytic conversion of surface materials by stellar energy.
• Fresh surface material is constantly exposed through processes such as seismic activity, volcanism, or erosion.
• The oxygen rapidly depletes from the atmosphere through oxidization with surface materials: a rough equilibrium between production and depletion exists.
• The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere varies according to the density of global cloud cover.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Tharmin has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Tharmin is a frontier, a wild and lonely place that rarely sees visitors. Many of the planets and moons within the system have never been visited by an intelligent being.

There is normally no activity within the system.

• Commercial traffic is extremely rare: the system sees very few visiting ships.
• Commo only picks up natural background noise and static.
• The system does not have any commercial navigation beacons.
• Vessels are unlikely be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
