Seung is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and are both non-agricultural and nonindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- They require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- These worldlets have very few prospect for economic expansion.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Wuan Technology Association, part of the Solomani Confederation, located in the Nemo Subsector of Magyar Sector.
- This world has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.
- This world has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This system is part of the New Libdis-Pindur Main, also known popularly as the Savage Main.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport[edit]
Seung has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
Linguistics[edit]
The following languages are used on this world:
- Wuan: A language dialect descended from Chinese (Guanhua), a Sino-Tibetan Dialect.
- Rim Anglic: One of the principal dialects of Anglic, and the official language of the Solomani Confederation. Usually simply called Anglic by the Solomani. It is a second language within the Association.
- Firstspeak: A constructed interlingua based on Anglic, devised by the Solomani Party in order to overcome communication barriers created by the many diverse languages and dialects that have arisen over the centuries within the region since the time of the Terran Confederation. [2]
World Culture[edit]
Wuan culture prioritizes collaboration, cooperation, and efficiency. While the Vilani used social engineering to achieve such goals, the Wuans turned to bioengineering. During the Long Night, the Wuans undertook an ambitious eugenics project, recreating themselves as a distinct Human variant. For each role in Wuan society there is an associated, highly specialized genotype expressly engineered to perform it. While there are dozens of roles and hundreds of variants, the apparent outward conformity of Wuan society can also be unnerving to visitors.
