Shankida has a scarcity of water and a relatively sparse atmosphere. The system has a population over 1 billion sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Remnants Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Shankida, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a count. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. During the Long Night this world was named Shankida.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Shankida is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
Shankida is a small hot ball of a planet, with a thin atmosphere, low hydrographics, and in a close orbit of the primary star.
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]

Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Shankida is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Shankida has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Shankida has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
The entire population live in deep caves which open on the shores of the two inland seas and lead deep below the sea beds.
- B'rhumn Sea
- K'lachtikin Sea
Native Lifeforms[edit]
No information yet available.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Shankida was settled by the Ziadd early in the eighth century. The society is self-sufficient, and most everyone is single minded and self-opinionated.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Shankida has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Shankida has a population of 6,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium
- Klatha'sh: The dominant Ziadd language
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium
Urbanization[edit]
Ziadd structures tend to be solid and blocky and are usually heavily decorated. Many fly flags and banners declaring allegiance and status.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Shankida possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Shankida is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Shankida has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Culture (Cx)[edit]
Indenturing is common on Shankida; all children are owned and must work their way to freedom by repaying society for their upbringing and education. Those that do not achieve freedom (about 40%), remain indentured for their entire lives. The penalties for abusing indentured servants are fairly severe, and culturally mistreating servants is viewed as a mental disorder.
