Rorre is an agricultural production world with a shirt-sleeve atmosphere and a balance of available surface water. The system has a population between 1 million and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Darrian Confederation in the Darrian Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector. 100% of the world's population is the Minor Human Race Daryen.
- Rorre is a member of the Spinward Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Rorre is a binary star system.
- The primary is a white main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x9 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Rorre orbits within the primary star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Rorre is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Rorre has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Rorre has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Rorre has extensive plant life, providing many edible fruits and vegetables. Animal life is minimal, limited mainly to insects and some avian species which feed on them, or on the nectar and sap of the plants.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Te-Zlodh name for this world is Rore, which means "fertile."
A member of the Confederation, Rorre was colonized by Darrians who wanted to keep their pre-contact tech level while the rest of Darrian surged ahead. Ironically, it was the one colony that survived well when the first confederation fell apart in the Maghiz. Such technology as there is belongs to a small class who runs the production of the planet. The most important industry of Rorre is tourism. Its long seasons allow extended vacations or sabbaticals for scholars and businessmen alike.
World Languages[edit]
- Te-Zlodh
- Written te-zlodh uses a syllabary of flowing symbols, known as yaser te-yulep (the old script). When the Solomani arrived at Darrian, a new Latin-based alphabet, rome te-yulep ('the Roman script'), was introduced. Currently, yaser te-yulep remains in use for legal documentation, classic literature, poetry and news bulletins, where the speed and efficiency of the syllabary allows for rapid reading. Scientific and educational documentation are written in rome te-yulep.
World Law (L)[edit]
Roget has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
- The Taledh Code is the basis of Darrian law.
Technology[edit]
With a society held at TL-3 the inhabitants have access to simple electrical devices but tend to avoid using them if a more natural solution can be found. Oil lamps fuelled from inflammable tree sap are preferred to incandescent bulbs, for example. Housing often takes the form of hollow arbours, specially trained to grow in the fashion of the now extinct Orchard trees of old Daryen. Other residences could be anything from a roofed platform built in the canopy of a forest, to a sophisticated log cabin.
Trivia[edit]
During the Psionic Suppressions of the early 800s, a large number of Imperial psionics sought asylum in the Confederation. Those who were accepted found themselves secretly transported to Rorre.
