Osha has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Shallows Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Osha, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Kuus.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Osha is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
History and Background[edit]
The entire population of Osha are either starport employees or naval base personnel.
The navy base was established to help keep an eye on the Ziadd to rimward and Ushra (Dagudashaag 1016) to trailing, as were the other bases around this subsector.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Osha has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Imperial Naval Base, hosting elements of the 50th Fleet.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used here:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
World Government (G)[edit]
Osha is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
World Economy[edit]
Osha is located on the main supply route to Dakushan (Dagudashaag 0518). It currently has a contract to build a fleet of multi-ton tanker ships to carry hydrogen to Dakushan and bring back the exports -- thorium and platinum -- of that world.
