Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The Nonsuch class Patrol Frigate is a warship.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Capable of a single jump 2 and 6 Gs acceleration and equipped with twenty-five turrets, this design can escort friendly merchants and conduct commerce raiding when needed. It is not intended to stand against ships of the line. The are very fast and agile but don't carry heavy weapon systems. It carries a pair of model 5 fib computers, for excellent fail-safe fire control from the CIC. The streamlined needle/wedge hull is armored enough to resist crippling critical hits. They are heavily compartmentalized with reinforced bulkheads. The ship is fitted with fuel scoops and fuel purification refineries for wilderness ocean refueling. There are 34 marines aboard who are deployed and recovered by a pair of 20 ton drop boats. There is a 3 ton cargo bay as well. There are twenty triple missile turrets firing as port and starboard batteries, a dorsal triple beam laser turret and eight plasma cannons fitted for all aspect, close quarters battle.

The crew consists of 11 command, 11 engineers, 12 gunnery, 5 flight, 5 flight, 2 security specialists, and a small platoon of 34 marines. There are 43 staterooms for the 16 officers and 64 enlisted crew. The prototype required 126 weeks to construct and fit out. The production model was completed in only 101 weeks and at reduced cost.

The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]
