Loroy is a poor, barren hellworld, which would challenge the survival of nearly any sophont in Charted Space if it weren't already barren.
- As a barren world, it has no overt population, government, or law level.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world could probably be populated by very determined colonists if any had an inclination to do so...
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Vilian Subsector of Astron Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Loroy is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Loroy is a Twilight Zone World.
- One side of the world permanently faces towards the star and one side permanently faces away.
- In the narrow region between permanent night and permanent day, the primary star eternally hangs on the horizon.
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's colder outer H- region.
- It receives relatively low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Loroy is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Loroy has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
- Oxygen is produced by photocatalytic conversion of surface materials by stellar energy.
- Fresh surface material is constantly exposed through processes such as seismic activity, volcanism, or erosion.
- The oxygen rapidly depletes from the atmosphere through oxidization with surface materials: a rough equilibrium between production and depletion exists.
- The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere varies according to the density of global cloud cover.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Loroy has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
- The world has an arid, hostile surface environment.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
No native life: the world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The system is a remote wilderness. Many of the planets and moons within it may never have had an intelligent being visit them.
- Information about the system is limited.
- The resources of the system are untapped.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date: previously undocumented groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Loroy does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Loroy possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Loroy has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Military[edit]
None.
World Law (L)[edit]
Loroy has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 6 (few)
- Labor: 0 (unpopulated)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Loroy is unpopulated.
Urbanization[edit]
None.
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 0 (none)
- Acceptance: 0 (none)
- Strangeness: 0 (none)
- Symbols: 0 (none)
World Timeline[edit]

- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
