System Data[edit]

Goron-Jubb System[edit]

The primary is Goron, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.352 Sols, a mass of 0.774 Sols, and a diameter of 1.168 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet and (II) a thin atmosphere hospitable world. (III) Jubb is designated the mainworld and orbits in the habitable zone. Only Jubb retains satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Jubb[edit]

(III) Jubb is designated the mainworld and orbits Goron at a mean distance of 0.73 AU (109.2 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 275 days 16 hours and a rotation period of 21.5 hours. The axial tilt is 16 degrees. Jubb has a diameter of 7,455 km, a density of 5.62 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.59 G. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.15 bar and a composition of 75% nitrogen (N2), 24% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the high percentage of atmospheric oxygen. Approximately 48% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.5m. Mean surface temperature: 13°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems, driven by the star and the seas, drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

This world is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

This world has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

This world has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 175 million km², Land surface area: 91 million km², Water surface area: 84 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

The hot marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (II) (within the H– region of the inner system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and moisture. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

Jubb, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

World starport[edit]

Jubb has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World technology level[edit]

Jubb possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World government[edit]

Jubb is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World military[edit]

Rumors of a small squadron of license built Starfire class Strike Fighters are hidden somewhere in the system at a top-secret base. The government has contracted with two groups of technologically advanced Mercenaries from off world. One unit is Mendel's Marauders and the other is Jeff's Anti-Lebensgeschwader.
