Garvil is a barren fluid hellworld with oceans consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- This world has no overt population, government, or law level.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is a member world of the Principality of Mavuzo located in the Siridor Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
- It orbits the secondary star.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Garvil is a binary star system.
- The primary is an unstable red bright giant named Menitat.
- The secondary is a blue-white subgiant named Brask.
- They are coincidental companions.

System Data[edit]
Expanded system data is available.
Menitat System (M1 II Primary)
- x1 planetoid belt (a collapsing accretion disk).
- x1 rocky secondary world. It is a still-forming protoplanet.
Brask System (F1 IV Secondary) 7900 AU / 0.125 light years distant).
- The Mainworld.
- x4 rocky secondary worlds.
- x2 gas giants.

- Expanded system data is available.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the secondary star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's colder outer H- region.
- It receives relatively low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Garvil is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Garvil has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The atmosphere primarily consists of nitrogen and nitrogen compounds such as nitrogen dioxide and ammonia.
- It is equivalent to a Dense Atmosphere, with a surface pressure of 2 atmospheres.
- Thick water vapor and ammonia clouds permanently fill the sky at higher altitudes and block a significant amount of light.
- The atmosphere is transparent at lower levels but light levels are low.
- It contains very little oxygen.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Garvil has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- It experiences low temperatures.
- The seas are very dilute ammonium hydroxide (liquid water containing a significant trace of dissolved ammonia).
- The waters are mildly caustic and are toxic if ingested.
Satellites:[edit]
1x small, heavily cratered vacuum moon named Rend, orbiting at 25 diameters.
- It is the site of an abandoned outpost.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Garvil is a Danger World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
The Garvil system was claimed by the Principality of Mavuzo on the basis that it naturally fell within their sphere of influence. It also serves as a buffer zone against possible Jaibok incursions. It is occasionally patrolled by naval vessels of the Principality.
The volatile nature of the stars in the system and the elevated levels of high energy particles and harmful radiation have resulted in Garvil being declared an Amber Zone.
The automated observatory on Lenge, the outer moon of the gas giant Andaril, was emplaced to record changes in the primary star following an extended period of flare activity and stellar instability. The star returned to its version of normal after a few decades and funding for the project was reallocated. In 1080 the observatory was mothballed, pending later reactivation if necessary.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Garvil has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
- An emergency facility is located on the surface.
World Population (P)[edit]
Garvil is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Garvil possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Garvil has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Military[edit]
Garvil is under the protection of the Principality of Mavuzo.
- It is patrolled by Mavuzo naval vessels.
World Law (L)[edit]
Garvil has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
No trade is conducted to or from the Garvil system.
- Raw materials such as ores may potentially be harvested from any of the worlds in the system.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 9 (moderate)
- Labor: 0 (unpopulated)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 0 (none)
- Acceptance: 0 (none)
- Strangeness: 0 (none)
- Symbols: 0 (none)
World Timeline[edit]
- ca 400: First known survey (retrieved from a Talokani data archive).
- 885: Garvil is officially claimed by the Principality of Mavuzo.
- ca 940: An emergency shelter is sited on Rend, Garvil's moon.
- ca 970: An automatic solar observatory is constructed on the outer moon of the gas giant Andaril.
- ca 1080: The solar observatory is abandoned after funding is withdrawn.
