Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Druze is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Druze has a Corrosive Atmosphere and possesses a concentrated gas mix or unusual temperature which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit. TL–9 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Druze has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Druze is a high-tech, low-population world with fluid oceans.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Druze has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Druze has a population of 80 sophonts (tens).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.

World Government[edit]

Druze is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

The world is officially listed as non-aligned due to the absence of any formal planetwide government. The Druze Chemicals facility is home to approximately 80 employees that have formed a small union that performs the functions of governing their small community.

In reality the Solomani Confederation's naval presence in the system makes the system a protectorate of the Confederation. The officer assigned to the base is the de facto ruler of Druze.

World Military[edit]

The Confederation Navy founded a small base in the system to support operations along the New Holland-Galloway Main in response to privateering against the route shortly after the Brookwall Police Action started. As the police action escalated the base was used as a resupply depot, the size of which the small base was no prepared to handle.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Druze has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Druze possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Economy[edit]

Druze is the homeworld of the Druze Chemicals Incorporated corporation. The company maintains an extraction and manufacturing plant on the surface, but houses the headquarters in the starport. It is also the location of the headquarters of many other small corporations and the home port for many merchant ships.

The starport of the Druze system has experienced spill over from the Confederation Navy's base and therefore has a nearly constant presence of naval personal. The navy has been forced to use the starport as a secondary barracks, making the owners of hotels wealthy. This influx of bored young soldiers has also fueled security problems on the port.

The starport also earns profits from the new construction and refits of merchant ships. At present, over half of the port's facilities are under contract by the Confederation Navy.

World Culture[edit]

No information yet available.

Historical Data[edit]

The Port of Druze was founded as an independent station by a group of companies including Druze Chemicals looking for an uncolonized and non-aligned world where they could create a tax haven.

In 1102 the Brookwall Police Action began after the Zimmerist and anti-Zimmerist civil war erupted into violence in the neighboring Brookwall system. A renegade and Zimmerist-aligned squadron of the Brookwall Home Guard established a base somewhere on the surface of Druze. This so-called Druze Star Navy acted as a band of privateers and raided both commerce and military supply moving along the New Holland-Galloway Main. The Solomani Confederation Navy established a base in the system in order to drive the pirates into hiding.
