Derla is a fluid world with an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This planet is tidally-locked to its primary star with a hot region facing the the primary, a cold region on the other side, and a habitable area in the twilight zone between. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Derla, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Aarenziisge.

Derla is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

Derla itself is tidally locked to the primary star and cloaked in an insidious mix of gases. The surface colony is located on the bright face and entirely underground.

History and background

The system was host to a Zeda Alignment scout and corsair base.

In 1108 Derla's starport was downgraded from class C to class D; there is speculation that DagMet AG intends to have the starport relocated to the planetoid belt.

The world's primary industry are quarrying the richly colored local stone and producing fine quality carvings. On the dark face atmospheric gases (mostly ammonia and ammonia compounds) condense and form a large sea. The northern shore of the sea is the site of an enormous chemical synthesis complex, entirely owned and operated by DagMet AG.

Interstellar Petrochemical Processing is also interested in Derla and has a complex dirtside.
