Chanison is a vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Outrange Subsector of Harea Sector.
- It orbits the secondary star.
- Vacuum worlds have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.
- This die back world was once settled and developed, but the inhabitants have either died off or left leaving behind the ruins and remnants of their civilization.
- The dead civilization on this world belonged to the Droyne.
- This a "forbidden" world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Chanison is a binary star system.
- The primary is an turbulent blue bright giant named Zumatsu.
- The secondary is a yellow subdwarf.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x11 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Chanison is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Chanison has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Chanison has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Satellites:[edit]
Chanison retains a relatively large, fairly close vacuum moon.
- It orbits once every few days.
- The moon lost its atmosphere at the same time as the mainworld.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, vacuum world.)
Native lifeforms[edit]
No surviving native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Chanison is a frontier, an isolated spot that rarely sees visitors. Evidence suggests that it was a Droyne world with a population numbering in the tens of millions.
- Millennia ago a disaster stripped the world of its atmosphere and hydrosphere, leaving it lifeless.
- The worlds marginally habitable moon suffered the same fate.
- The resources of the system are largely untapped.
The world is rated as a Red Zone.
- Travel to the system is actively discouraged.
The system is unpopulated.
- Commercial traffic is extremely rare: the system sees very few visiting ships.
- The giant primary star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
- There are no active navigation beacons.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date: previously undocumented groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World starport[edit]
Chanison has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Chanison is unpopulated.
Urbanization[edit]
None.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Chanison has a die back Tech Level of TL–7.
- The world has no functioning technological base.
Salvage
- Remains on this world include operable electronic and mechanical devices, components, processed metals, and worked raw materials.
- These may be salvaged.
World Government (G)[edit]
Chanison has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Military[edit]
None.
World Law (L)[edit]
Chanison has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: A (abundant)
- Labor: 0 (unpopulated)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 0 (none)
- Acceptance: 0 (none)
