History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Albe was originally settled to exploit significant lanthanum deposits, and during the Sindalian Empire was second only to Sindal itself in influence. Its dukes were said to be able to buy and sell Emperors on Sindal, to the point that some referred to the Emperors as "Dogs of Albe".
However, overpopulation and a weak ruler -- Gorluun -- led to planetary disaster following the collapse of the empire. Without regular and extensive imports, local society couldn't sustain itself. The ten-year period of "Gorluun's Feast" led to billions of casualties.
One faction, House Bruhkarr, lost a power struggle on Albe itself and migrated spinward, settling the world they named Bruhkarr.
On Albe, reconstruction took centuries. Eventually, a much diminished Albe joined the Third Imperium. Since joining, its government has begun terraforming nearby Cordillon (Trojan Reach 2411), with the hope that the new system will eventually relieve Albe's once again crippling overpopulation.
