Afroqnats is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Afroqnats has a solitary primary star.

  • It is a yellow main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zone's prime H region.
  • It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Afroqnats is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Afroqnats has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Afroqnats has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

  • Powerful storms sweep across the oceans.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Satellites[edit]

Afroqnats does not retain any moons.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

Misidentified Star[edit]

The primary star is listed on Imperial star charts as a white dwarf stellar remnant.

White Dwarf Stellar Remnant.jpg

In actuality it is a yellow main sequence.

A number of systems within the subsector have stars that have been given incorrect stellar designations on star charts, almost always being misreported as white dwarfs.

  • This consistent error appears to date back to the time of the Imperial First Survey.
  • Some authorities claim that it was a deliberate large scale effort to discourage interest in the region.

Ongoing study by the IISS has revealed the error, but this occurred after the publication of the Imperial Second Survey.

  • Verified data confirming the exact nature of the star would command premium prices.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Afroqnats has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Afroqnats has a population of 9,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Afroqnats possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Afroqnats is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Afroqnats has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.
