A'a'suni is a moderate population world, too many sophonts to be an agricultural world but not enough to be an industrial world. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. This a low technology world with technology competency below the standard for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Pact Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. A'a'suni, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a baronet, and the feifdoms of a marquis, and a viscount. All four are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. This is the homeworld to Athar, a Minor Race. During the Long Night this world was named Iris.

The pacifistic Athar are descended from hexapodal (six-limbed) carnivores. They are rarely seen off-world as their ideal temperature is -130°C and they would boil to death in normal human temperatures.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The world is actually run by a bureaucracy divided into a number of Councils, all concerned with different aspects of life on A'A'Suni. Some of the most important include the Council of the Environment, the Council of Provision, and the Council of Defense. Usually a single extended family forms the core of a Council, and is headed by the leader of the family.

Imperial Landed Nobility (N)[edit]

This world, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of four members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

This world has a routine quality starport.

  • A Class C Starport Facility has minimal if any shipyards and can only perform extremely limited repair work.
  • This facility has many very skilled personnel who can perform surprisingly sophisticated repair work despite the limited facilities.
  • This facility has refueling infrastructure and limited refining capabilities. One may purchase unrefined fuel here.
  • Starports of this class rarely have both a Lowport and a Highport.

World Population (P)[edit]

  • Other, population 5%

World Government (G)[edit]

This world has a Charismatic Dictator and is a Charismatic Dictatorship government.

  • It is a government by a single leader enjoying the confidence of the citizens.
  • The typical power source of this government is a Popular Autocracy.
  • The typical power structure of this government is an Empire.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

This world has a very high law level. This by itself almost always justifies an Amber Zone, possibly a Red Zone, advisory.

  • There is a written legal code, byzantine enough that it reduces to citizens existing at the government's convenience. There is a dedicated police force to enforce the government's whims as excused by the law.
  • On some worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.
  • All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically prohibited for private ownership. Visiting starships with weapons are at the mercy of the local interstellar political situation for safety, and even if they are protected, must stay within designated starports and approach corridors. Without such protections, they are often attacked upon identification.
  • Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.
  • There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.
