79th Fleet

The 79th Fleet is the Numbered Imperial fleet stationed in the Concord Subsector.

Description (Specifications)

There are two Naval bases in the subsector, one Scout base, and one Way station. There are two line squadrons and two ScoutRons assigned to the fleet. The subsector's high population worlds provide troop strength for the fleet's transports. There are numerous amber zone planets where pro-Solomani factions work against the Third Imperium. These groups require the fleet's special attention. Captains within this formation must also carefully monitor the Vegan Navy.

Mission

Training, fleet logistics, border security and mercantile patrol.

Strategy & Doctrine (Operations)

They are instructed to avoid contact. No provocation is to be offered to provide an excuse for aggressive escalation. Scout and recon elements closely monitor enemy fleet dispositions. Main fleet elements are only committed under dire circumstances, and after higher echelon formations have been mobilized to arrive for support.

History & Background (Dossier)

Most of these border combat elements have been rotated out over the long service history of this formation. These are the current replacement squadrons drawn from long service reserve units, mobilized and pushed to the front.
