Ararumush is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Voekhaeb Society in the Khuulu Subsector of Meshan Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.
- This world hosts a Vargr Corsair Base.

System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belt.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data
Mainworld Size (S)
Ararumush is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Ararumush has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Ararumush has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)
Ararumush was claimed by the Vilani millennia ago and was eventually absorbed into the Ziru Sirka. It was nominally under the authority of the Rule of Man prior to the Long Night.
- It has ruins and remains on its surface dating to before the founding of the Ziru Sirka.
World Starport (St)
Ararumush has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
- The world is host to a Vargr Corsair Base.
World Population (P)
Ararumush has a population of 9,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population largely consists of Vargr.
- Humans and other sophonts may also be encountered.
World Technology Level (T)
Ararumush possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion, and the most fundamental atomic energy.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ground cars or automobiles and tracked vehicles.
- Water: Large ships and submersibles with steel hulls.
- Air: Early aircraft including seaplanes and very early unmanned rockets.
World Government (G)
Ararumush is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
World Law (L)
Ararumush has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data
- Importance: -2 (very unimportant)
World Economy
- Resources: 8 (moderate)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 2 (extremely limited)
- Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)
World Culture
- Heterogenity: 2 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 4 (extremely aloof)
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
- Symbols: 1 (extremely concrete)
World Timeline
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -3700s onwards: waves of Vargr settle worlds across the region.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man nominally administers the rimward worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- -1658: the Sack of Gashikan, an atrocity known throughout the coreward parts of Charted Space.
- -1427: the Wolvesbane plague is released in Gashikan Sector, decimating Vargr populations.
- The Year 0: to rimward, the Third Imperium is founded.
- circa 26: the Empire of Varroerth is founded.
- circa 170: the various Ruler of Five precursor states begin a centuries-long war of dominance.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the system.
- circa 500: the Ruler of Five Confederation draws up its charter, establishing the state in its current form.
- mid 800s: the Opposition Alliance is founded and rapidly admits many of the neutral worlds around it.
- late 800s: the Ngath Confederation begins to form and gradually absorbs neutral worlds and smaller polities.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the system.
- circa 1040: the 17th Disjuncture is founded and rapidly brings neutral worlds under its banner, directly competing with the Ngath Confederation.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
- 1078: the Third Empire of Gashikan forms.
